Role Overview
As a Junior Fleet Operator, you'll work hands-on with our premium fleet — coordinating vehicle staging at AUS Airport, facilitating seamless guest handoffs, and maintaining the impeccable condition our brand demands. You'll be the face of Gearhouse Auto for many guests, so a customer-first mindset is essential.
Responsibilities
- Stage and retrieve vehicles at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and designated pickup/dropoff locations
- Facilitate smooth guest handoffs including walkthroughs, key exchange, and damage documentation
- Conduct thorough quality inspections before and after each rental to protect owner assets
- Coordinate with our detailing team to maintain fleet cleanliness and presentation standards
- Assist with Turo listing management including photo updates, availability calendars, and guest communication
- Document and report any vehicle issues, damage, or maintenance needs promptly
- Support general fleet logistics including fueling, repositioning, and interior prep
Requirements
- Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years)
- 21 years of age or older (insurance requirement)
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles confidently
- Previous customer service experience preferred (hospitality, valet, or automotive background a plus)
- Reliable transportation to reach vehicle locations across the Austin metro area
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presenting vehicles at their best
Compensation
- $18–22/hr depending on experience
